Changing the visitation agreement must be done through a petition with the court’s approval. The goal of the visitation rights is to give each parent the allotted time with the child(ren) whether they are married or not.
Reasons for the visitation rights to be changed can fall under any of these: job change, abusive parent, court order violation, relocation of the custodial parent, etc.
